Rallicrossin MM-sarja käynnistyy elokuun loppupuolella koronapandemian runtelemasta Ruotsista. Höljesissä ajettavan kisan yllä leijuu suuri turvallisuuteen liittyvä uhkakuva tilanteessa, jossa maassa virustartuntoja tulee edelleen päivittäin.
– Totta kai se omalla tavalla huolestuttaa, GRX:n tiimipäällikkö Jussi Pinomäki toteaa tilanteesta.
Myös suomalaiskuljettaja Niclas Grönholm on hieman epäileväinen Ruotsiin menon suhteen.
– Eihän se tietenkään, kiva homma ole, mutta en tiedä, ei se sillä tavalla huolestuta. Pitää vain pitää se mielessä ja olla entistä tarkempi. Välttää turhia ihmiskontakteja ja liikkumista, Grönholm pohtii.
Pinomäki luottaa siihen, että sarjan promoottori sekä kattojärjestö FIA ottavat päätöksiään tehdessä kaikkien turvallisuuden huomioon.

Uskon tiimien olevan siinä kohtaa valmiita noudattamaan niitä määräyksiä ja ohjeistuksia, joita nämä tahot tulevat tiimeille esittämään, jos sinne päätetään mennä, Pinomäki pohtii.
Ruotsin osakilpailu on määrä ajaa 22.- 23. elokuuta. Suomessa ajetaan viikkoa myöhemmin.
