Tällä hetkellä Metsä Groupin puukaupasta on sähköistä noin 60 prosenttia. Kaikkiaan Metsä Group on ostanut suomalaisilta metsänomistajilta puuta sähköisesti 800 miljoonalla eurolla.
– Sähköinen kaupankäynti on osoittautunut menestykseksi. Sen avulla puukauppojen teko ja metsäpalveluiden myynti ja ostaminen on helpompaa sekä metsänomistajille että omalle henkilökunnallemme, Metsä Groupin kotimaan puukaupasta ja metsäpalveluista vastaava johtaja Juha Jumppanen kertoo.
Metsänomistaja voi tarka stella ja hyväksyä sopimukset Metsäverkko-palvelussa silloin kun se hänelle sopii, toimistoajoista riippumatta. Kaikki kauppoihin liittyvät dokumentit säilyvät siellä tallessa ja kauppojen tilannetta voi seurata lähes reaaliaikaisesti.
Metsäasiantuntijan puolestaan ei tarvitse postitella papereita allekirjoitettaviksi, käsitellä ja arkistoida. Häneltä vapautuu enemmän aikaa metsänomistajien tapaamisiin.
– Nopeimmillaan metsäasiantuntijamme tekee sähköisen tarjouksen metsänhoitotöistä, ja metsänomistaja hyväksyy sen Metsäverkossa puhelinkeskustelun aikana. Tämä on mahdollista, koska Suomessa on julkisin varoin kerätty kattavasti metsävaratietoa, joka on metsänomistajien ja alan toimijoiden käytössä metsään.fi-palvelussa. Se tieto riittää monesti metsänhoitotarpeen arviointiin eikä aina tarvitse käydä maastossa, Jumppanen kiittelee.
Tänä keväänä sähköisistä palveluista on ollut valtava apu myös työturvallisuuden kannalta.
– Olemme tavanneet metsänomistajia vain metsässä, tietysti turvavälit huomioiden, mutta sopimusten tekemisen ja allekirjoittamisen takia ei ole tarvinnut ottaa riskiä – ne on voitu tehdä kätevästi Metsäverkossa.
Metsä Groupilla sähköinen puukauppa tarkoittaa sitä, että kaupat tehdään Metsäverkossa ja hyväksytään pankkitunnuksilla. Suomen ja tiettävästi koko maailman ensimmäinen sähköinen puukauppa tehtiin 2. kesäkuuta 2015.
Alun perin sähköinen kaupankäynti oli mahdollista vain Metsä Groupin omistajajäsenille, mutta nykyisin se on tarjolla kaikille Suomessa metsää omistaville metsänomistajille.
